Material Gauges & Weights

Gauge thicknesses vary from material to material. When calling out a material thickness on a part drawing, it is always better to callout the actual thickness rather than the gauge. Additionally, gauge thicknesses have a tolerance on the actual sheet as supplied. Therefore, the thickness specified in this chart may vary from sheet to sheet. The weight will also vary depending on the exact alloy being used combined with the variation in actual thickness. This chart should be used as a reference tool only.
